I'm Back!

Ok, so San Diego is not and will never be New York, San Fran, or even LA but this is where I am and this is where my darling son was born (at home!) so we don't hate it even though we don't love it.

It's not all bad:

Having recently moved to North Park I must say it's nice to be in a 'hood with great burgers and of course, The Linkery. Best food in Sd.

So here's to places we don't hate and burgers that taste great.

Low Five

This new list of my five top grub huts in San Diego is now titled Low Five as with passing of Region a few months back there is little in the way of sustainable simple damn good food around these here parts. You can shell it out for a decent meal at Nine-Ten but with no sense of community as Region offered. There is hope though as I am forced to find the diamonds in the ruff, the small dives that serve good food that most of us can afford (see Pizzeria Arrivederci).

Velma Veloria and I enjoy a meal at one of our fav's, Jyoti-Bihanga, here in San Diego.

Were are sure, though not certain, that it was at this meal the upright cookie in ice cream formation was in fact invented.
